Yet another year of excellent climatic conditions.
Bud burst was early, which is often the sign of a great vintage. The summer was very dry and the vine stopped growing in July. The grapes remained small. The autumn weather was very good and allowed us to achieve phenolic and technical maturity very early on.
Whilst waiting for harvesting to begin, sugar levels increased and we reached the highest levels of alcohol since we started here in 1997.
We have continued with the same philosophy of having the greatest respect for the grapes and the wine. Maximum ripeness levels were reached which lent the wine its slightly Mediterranean character. Its deep hue has already begun to evolve.
The nose is powerful with scrubland aromas and a hint of eau-de-vie fruits.
The palate is smooth, sophisticated and very persistent.
